Izzy's first snow

Dear Kristi and Chad:

I can't believe that so much time has passed since we picked up our puppy on July 2nd!

We've named him Ellis and he has grown up so fast.  His coat seems to change monthly and we were very surprised to see his eyes and coloring when he got groomed just before the holiday.

He is a lovely addition to our family and he knows it!   We got together with Barbara and Riley (who is beautiful)! yesterday and both dogs still instantly bond.  They definitely know that they are litter mates and so enjoy seeing each other.

I thought you might like this blog post:http://www.cynthiabrownweddings.com/personal/white-christmas.html

and my first one about Ellis as well: http://www.cynthiabrownweddings.com/personal/the-newest-member-of-our-family.html

Wishing you all a lovely holiday.  I promise that I won't lose touch!

Sincerely,
Cynthia Brown
Hello Riverbend, Chad and Kristi,

We were your luckiest clients to get the most awesome puppy Wrigley.  He is a year old this week, was a puppy of Rhonda and Sam.  He has been such a joy to our family.  In the summer we couldn't keep him out of the pool, he even turned green.  Now he loves the snow.
He was 4lbs when we got him and is now 49lbs of curly fluff.  I just want you to know how special and smart he is, and thank you for adding such a great family member for us.

Dear Kristi and Chad,

I thought that you would like a picture of Cocoa on her 1st Birthday!  She is such a cutie and is so loved!  I really think my dad may dognap her!  I think he makes up reasons to come over and play with her.  She has been a great addition to our family.  She loves "her boys" and must be with them at all times if they are home.

Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas. Hope all is well at Riverbend. Sophie is doing great! I cannot tell you what joy she has brought our family. We all love her so much. (and so does anyone else that sees her) She is so loving and playful, and so very smart. We get so tickled at her all of the time because she is always so jolly.
I am so excited about the McDuffie's getting a puppy too! They are absolutely wonderful people and some of my dearest friends. They will provide a very loving home to their puppy and love her as much as we love Sophie. In fact, Sophie loves to go next door and play with their dog Biscuit. I went shopping today to get puppy supplies and we had the best time.
Please feel free to use me as a reference anytime.
Take care,
Sophie Clark Family

We thought you might like to see Cosmo a year later.
He's as healthy as can
be, extremely smart and really energetic.

We love him dearly.

Merry Christmas!

He finally stopped growing !!!  Very strong, very healthy, very playful (still !! all pup).

Hope you are enjoying the Holidays. I forwarded this picture of Ginger fast a sleep after playing in our first snowfall from last night.
She has been a joy and settled in very well with the exception of our cats, but they will figure each other out shortly. She goes for her vet appointment tomorrow. Just wanted to let you know how great she is doing and how much we love her. It has been very busy around here for the holidays and everyone can't believe how settled in she is. She seems very smart and is a happy kid!
Will keep you updated.
Thanks

Hi Kristi,

I just want to wish you a happy holiday and let you know how much we are enjoying Clark.  I know you get lots of owners, but we bought Clark last July and almost returned him.  He was voted off the island several times, but you were so right to encourage us to hang in there.  He's the perfect dog.  We couldn't imagine our family without him.  He's so much fun.

Attached is a recent picture.  He's 7 months and 65 lbs (and still growing).  He absolutely LOVES the snow.:)

Hello!

Almost two years ago, I adopted one of your mini-labradoodle puppies. She was born (I believe) on November 21, 2008.

She's a WONDERFUL pup- great temperment, lots of energy, and very loving.

Humphrey Bogart is Bogart’s sexy namesake! He is a product of Rosie and Louie and is truly a special boy.

If he were human he would be an astronaut or, possibly, he would win the Noble Peace Prize. On weekends, he would be a standup comedian at the local comedy club.

Bogart is my wife’s service dog. He also is a therapy dog, registered with Therapy Dogs Incorporated. Linda shares him at Beaumont Hospital, in Royal Oak, Michigan, and I take him to St. Alan Parish where he offers love to autistic and down syndrome children receiving religious education.  He also brings joy to seniors recuperating from disabilities and medical procedures at a local convalescent home.

Best of all, Bogart loves children! Walking in the mall or at the grocery store, when he sees children, and they see him, it’s love at first sight! Bogart quiets a crying baby better than an English nanny by giving a big, sloppy lick with his big, pink tongue. Children love and cling to him, and the love is given right back in spades!

There isn’t a dog in the neighborhood that Bogart doesn’t like. He started playing with Finn, a beautiful golden retriever, when Finn was only sixteen weeks old. Bogart would lie on the ground and let Finn jump all over him. Now Finn outweighs Bogart by fifteen pounds and stands at least an inch taller, and Bogart still lies on the ground and Lets Finn jump all over him. Punkin, a female boxer, is also a buddy who loves playing keep-away and chase in our backyard. His newest friend is Joey, a silky terrier, who hangs on
Bogart’s ears and loves to play chase as well. Linda calls his tearing around the yard the Doodle 500, and it is very funny to watch.

Bogart loves the beach! Linda and I rent a cottage in Ludington, Michigan each year and take Bogart down to the beach of Lake Michigan, where I sling a tennis ball and he tears after it and brings it back.  Occasionally he will spot some geese or seagulls in the water and start to swim out after them. Digging up an old dead fish is a special treat too, much to the dismay of his over-protective mom. As hard as he works helping his mom and giving love to sick and healing humans, sometimes a dog just has to be a dog!

Do you want to laugh? Turn a Labradoodle out into a snow bank. They absolutely love it! They roll in it, shove their nose into it, and take big bites out and tear around the yard.
So, now you know a few things about Bogart. He works hard and plays hard too. He is 70 pounds of soft, sloppy love, and if that isn’t what you want in a dog, don’t get a Labradoodle!

A Special "Thank you" to Bogart and his family for sharing with us.   :-))

Chad & Kristi,

Rylee is now just over 16 weeks old and has completed all of her shots but rabies, which she is scheduled to get on November 5th.
We absolutely love having her - but I think Saydie is the happiest.

Rylee now weighs in at 17 lbs. and still fits very comfortably in the kennel she was shipped to us in.
She loves the park, new dogs, and is definitely a little ham when she meets new people.
She has been a fetch maniac since she was able to fit a ball in her mouth and she is a good little swimmer.

Everyone that meets her wants to take her home with them.
She already knows sit, down, wait, roll-over, paw, leave it, and drop it.

We are so happy that we decided to get a second doodle.

Attached are some recent pictures of Rylee, and I was actually able to get the both of them to sit long enough to get a picture at the park of both Saydie and Rylee together.

Hope things are well with both of you.

Hi Kristi,

Hope this email finds you well!  I thought you might like an update on Dougal's adventures over the last little while.  Dougal is doing all the right things--playing, eating, growing, sleeping and learning all of his basic obedience--we're going to be graduating from obedience school on Wednesday!  He's at about 36lbs now and still growing.  With all that fur, he looks about the size of most of the 50lb dogs in the park, so people are always shocked at how light he still is. He's got a few seasonal allergies (as does everyone in DC this season it seems) but other than that he's a healthy boy.

We spent a recent weekend up in Canada for Canadian Thanksgiving and Dougal had a fantastic time playing with Paterson, hiking and generally enjoying the outdoors.  He's got endless energy on hikes and definitely doubled the distance of every walk we took by flying through the woods.  It was the perfect occasion to practice our recalls, which he is doing really well!  He and Paterson still get along great--they fetch together and do a little tug of war, though Dougal is no match for Paterson's 150lbs (as you can see in the pictures, sometimes he was a tug of war observer)!

I've attached a few pictures from our time up north.

Back in DC, Dougal goes to doggie daycare once a week and is otherwise entertained by his fantastic dog walker as well as morning and afternoon walks to the dog park.  He has a lot of friends in the dog park and is a really social, happy guy.  I am definitely a proud momma!

He's scheduled for his neutering on Nov. 10th.  His adult teeth are growing in, one of his baby incisors fell out yesterday!  He's eating about 3 cups a day (1/2 in the morning, 1/2 at night)  He seems pretty good about self-disciplining his eating and he doesn't finish his meal every single time, but I want to make sure he's getting what he needs.  The Taste of the Wild is still sitting well with him so we've stuck to that.

Best,

Congratulations Ivy!!!

Miss Ivy has great news. This morning, she passed her big test and is certified by Therapy Dogs International. She can now assist people who need a hand (or paw) while going through a struggle in a hospital, nursing home, shelter for abused women and children, hospice center, reading lessons, grieving, and lots of other settings. www.tdi-dog.org is the website.
The testing was not easy and involved about 12 different obedience commands. I nearly had a heart attack when instead of coming to my side when called off leash (an easy task for her), she decided to race like an Indy car around the field house. After some coaxing to come back to me, the tester told me in a somewhat stern voice, "She may try one more time," creating high anxiety for me! On the second try, she was obedient and came to my side. Thank you, Ivy.
I would venture to guess that she was not in the top 10% of today's TDI testing class. But she made it! This is awfully good for a 13 month old (minimum age to test) and considering that she is a Labradoodle (highly "enthusiastic" by nature).
We are so proud of Miss Ivy. She is excited about having finished grad school and about "finding a job." She is thinking about applying for a position with an abuse shelter in Lake County called A Safe Place. High Four (and dew claw) for Ivy. Bark, Bark.

Hi, my name is Weymouth and this is my first shark! Please don't worry as sand sharks do not have teeth. As you can see I have grown to over 8 lbs. I love going out on my boat with the air blowing thru my hair.
Any"Wey", have a nice day as I play with my friends, Ken and June.
Hi Kristi,

I am writing to say hello and update you on my precious Maggie - she came to me in Spring 2009 (DOB: 12/07/2008).
She is the most amazing dog I could ever imagine - she is loveable, cuddly, smart (sometimes a little TOO smart!), inquisitive, and an amazing athlete.
This past summer she completed advanced canine training and came in valedictorian of her class - so now she has a trophy, medal, and certificate. She has completely mastered "sit," "down," "leave it," "heel," "crawl," and most of the time "come" - sometimes she can be a little stubborn if there is a deer or chipmunk in the woods.
She LOVES to hike, mountain bike, and run - she just loves to be in the woods. And it is almost impossible to fatigue her; the one day that we decided she was finally tired involved a day of hiking 8 miles, swimming for an 1 hour, and mountain biking for 15 miles.

She is such a perfect addition to our family.

I have attached some pictures of her, so you can see her in action.

Everywhere we go she gets so much attention and everyone loves her!
